Usability
Usability is perhaps one of the most important terms when it comes to designing and developing websites, yet still perhaps one of the most overlooked.
It involves ensuring pages use valid, semantic, logical mark-up and that they work as intended in all browsers.
It involves ensuring that content is written appropriately for its intended publication on the Internet.
It involves making sure that the user experience is a happy one. Usable websites just work. The target audience should never feel lost or frustrated. There’s only one real way to ensure this, and that’s testing websites with real end users.
It involves quite a bit really!
We provide usability reports for existing websites, and perform them as a matter of course on our own. We rigorously test code for security and stability issues, and we make sure that everything on a site is where your users expect it to be.
If you’re interested in a usability report for your existing website just drop us a mail and we’ll send you some further information.
Accessibility
By natural progression, we consider usability in many ways to be a prerequisite to accessibility. Accessible websites ensure that information is available to everyone. The W3C triple-a logo on the right indicates that this web page conforms to the highest standard of web accessibility.
There is already plenty of information available on the web about accessibility, so we won't presume to add unecessarily to these already existing resources. Instead, perhaps it is worth taking the time to read the W3C Introduction to Web Accessibility (www.w3.org/WAI/intro/accessibility.php).
In addition to usability reports, we can provide comprehensive accessibility reports on existing websites.
