Prices
This was always going to be a hard page for us to write.
We want to give you the best value for money, that means not forcing you to adhere to a pre-set price list. We charge you for what you get, and no more. We're not going to sell you hosting with features you'll never use, and we're not going to sell you a standard website template that will always cost you one-hundred and ninety-nine pounds and ninety-nine pence.
As such, this page is provided to give you a rough idea of what you can expect to pay.
In short, what you can expect to pay is the right amount for the job in hand. This will always be determined before we start work on a project. Preferably over a nice cup of coffee.
The default currency for this page is GBP (which is incidentally the only currency we accept payment in). However, you may view this page in EUR, USD, or grams of Vietnamese weasel coffee. The exchange rates used are as follows:
- USD - 1.73405
- EUR - 1.45939
- Grams of Vietnamese weasel coffee - 3.5625
Web design
- Roughly £200 to £5000
You can expect to pay somewhere between £200 and £400 for a relatively standard site, and anywhere between £400 and £5000 for a complex and feature rich site. A 20% deposit is normally required before the commencement of major projects.
Revamping
- Around £200 to £1000
This depends on the size and state of your site, but typically a site revamp will cost somewhere between £200 and £1000.
Tuition
- £25 an hour
One-on-one tuition is charged at £25 an hour.
Hosting
- Starting from £10 up to £100
Hosting begins at £10 per year for a basic package, this will give your website a place to sit on the Internet, a control panel to manage any settings you might want to configure, and up to five e-mail addresses.
Hosting packages rise up to £100 per year for more complex requirements and larger sites, however hosting packages will be tailored to your specific needs.
These packages do not include domain names. If you want to register a domain name we can do this for you. A dot com domain costs £10 a year and a dot co dot uk domain costs £3 a year. If you want to register your domain name yourself then we recommend using UKReg.
We use the HELM control panel to manage our hosting, if you want to have a preview of the features that will be available then we recommend you download the HELM user manual [pdf - 960KB].
Support
- Typically £25 an hour
Unless otherwise specified technical support is charged at £25 an hour. This support rate is charged for any updates and maintenance required on a website.
Very often minor updates only take 5 minutes, in these instances the time will be logged and you will be billed once you have run up an hour of support.
